Semester A
Students will continue to explore the Spanish language and the study of its structure to learn to speak at greater length with Spanish-speaking people of other cultures. The primary focus of Spanish 2A will be the expansion of verb tenses to include the simple past (preterite) and the imperfect, as well as vocabulary useful for all modes of transportation and travel. Spanish 2A is a continuation of the introduction to Spanish language and culture students experienced in Spanish 1B. This course is designed to help students develop the vocabulary and grammar needed to express themselves in a variety of settings. Regional differences in customs and pronunciation are highlighted when presenting grammar and vocabulary in context.The primary focus of Spanish 2A will be the expansion of verb tenses to include the simple past (preterite) and the imperfect, as well as vocabulary useful for all modes of transportation and travel. Students will be capable of comparing and describing what they want and feel as they express their opinions on a variety of topics. The theme of the course is to follow groups of young people from different Latin American countries that are competing for a prize in the International Festival of Cinema and Video.
